http://blogs.edweek.org/edweek/inside-school-research/2017/07/how_accessible_is_gifted_education_in_your_state.html?qs=gifted+education There are an estimated 100,000 gifted children in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, however many of these students are invisible in their classrooms and schools. At the annual MAGE conference in Boston, Roy Ghosh spoke about his vision for making bright kids as famous as athletes, singers, and youtubers. Students who are the highest achieving should be appreciated, motivated, recognized, encouraged, validated, treasured, and celebrated. He founded ScienceBuzz.com to 'get scientists out of the basement!' Key Note speaker, Joy Lawson Davis spoke on nurturing giftedness in all communities. As teachers, parents, and gifted advocates from around the state gathered, we shared the same vision for our students- that children who are academically able will be supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. We continue to fight for the rights of gifted children to receive an appropriate education that truly meets their needs. MAGE Days are coming up!
